SWARPDocs Support

SWARPDocs runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. It is free, with no account and no in-app purchases.

• ›Tap + to import files from the Files app, pick photos, scan paper with the camera or create a blank PDF.
• ›You can convert photos, scans, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, CSV, text, Markdown, web pages, SVG, EPUB e-books, e-mails (.eml) and saved web pages (.mht/.mhtml) to PDF.
• ›Open a PDF and use Tools to export it to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPUB, images, text, Markdown, RTF or HTML.

Your documents are stored only on this device, in the SWARPDocs folder of the Files app (On My iPhone or On My iPad). They are not synced between devices.

• ›To keep a copy elsewhere, use Share → Save to Files and choose iCloud Drive, or back up your device.
• ›Deleting the app also deletes its documents. Save anything you need first.

All conversions run on your device, so they work offline.

• ›Office and iWork files are rendered with Apple's built-in viewer. Very complex layouts can look slightly different from the original app.
• ›Exports to Word, Excel and EPUB rebuild text, headings and tables from the PDF. Scanned pages become pictures unless you run Make Searchable (OCR) first.
• ›If a file won't convert, export it as PDF or Word from the app that created it, then try again.

• ›Scanning needs camera access. If you declined it, allow it in Settings → SWARPDocs → Camera.
• ›Use Tools → Make Searchable (OCR) to make scanned pages searchable and selectable. It uses Apple's on-device text recognition.

• ›To open a password-protected PDF you need its password. We cannot recover forgotten passwords, because your files never reach us.
• ›E-books protected with DRM (for example Apple Books purchases) can't be converted. DRM-free EPUB files work.

• ›Draw or type your signature once and place it on one page or on every page. Saved signatures are stored only on your device.
• ›Redaction permanently removes the marked text and images from the saved file. It can't be undone after you save, so keep a copy of the original if you need it.

In the Shortcuts app you'll find SWARPDocs actions to convert files to PDF, merge PDFs, reduce PDF size and extract text, so you can automate common tasks.

• ›Make sure you have the latest version of SWARPDocs from the App Store.
• ›If the app behaves unexpectedly, close it from the app switcher and open it again.
• ›Very large spreadsheets can take long to convert. Splitting them into smaller files helps.

SWARPDocs collects no personal data, has no tracking and never uploads your documents. Read the full SWARPDocs Privacy Policy at swarpfoundation.com/products/swarpdocs/privacy.
